July 7-27, 2010 World Class Instruction - Island Inspiration For three weeks each July, the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival gathers talented young musicians from all over the world on the Big Island of Hawaii for intense daily coursework and individual lessons in singing technique, repertoire, Alexander Technique, acting, yoga, and of course, an invitation to the beautiful culture and environment of the islands. All of this work culminates in local concerts and events, giving students valuable performing experience, residents beautiful music, and everyone moments they'll never forget. English jazz phenomenon Liane Carroll is the only artist to ever win two BBC Jazz Awards in the same year. She has appeared in concerts with Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton and Ladysmith Black Mombazo and is believed by many to be Britain's finest jazz singer.
