Giving all glory to God, Nyla Watson is so excited and thankful to be making her HPAF debut! Watson is a dedicated performer in the New York City community and a recent graduate of New York University (NYU) Steinhardt’s Music Theater Voice graduate program. She has the honor of studying voice with the incomparable Dr. Ana Flavia Zuim, who is also the music director of this production of Carousel. She is also a proud graduate of Baldwin Wallace University’s Conservatory of Music (BW). Notable performances include ShowBoat: Live at Lincoln Center with Norm Lewis, Vanessa Williams and Fred Willard, Gigantic the Musical with Leslie Kritzer, Bonnie Mulligan and Ryan Redmond, where she actually played a character named Vanessa Williams, the touring companies of Wicked the musical and The Color Purple the musical (revival), Mama Rose in Gypsy at NYU, Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes at NYU and the regional premiere of Murder Ballad with BW. She attributes her success to her faith, her parents, her education and her professional and personal influences. Special thanks to artistic director, Justin Moniz, for this extraordinary opportunity. Acts 4:7-12
