Jessie Mackenzie Wilson completed a Master of Music Studies in Opera Performance under the tuition of Dr Rowena Cowley at The Sydney Conservatorium of Music in 2016. Roles performed include Susannah (Floyd, Susannah), Fiordiligi (Mozart, Cosi fan tutte), Night (Purcell, The Fairy Queen), Suor Genovieffa and Suor Dolcina (Puccini, Suor Angelica), Street singer (Bernstein, Mass), Miss Beswick/ First Nun (Williamson, English Eccentrics) and Susanna (Mozart, Le nozze di Figaro – Cover). In early 2017 she performed in the chorus of Opera Australia’s Carmen, Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour. During her studies at The Sydney Conservatorium, Jessie was awarded The Patricia Lucas Music Achievement Scholarship and The Hilda Mulligan M.B.E. Singing Scholarship for Operatic Soprano. in 2017 Jessie competed as a semi finalist in the prestigious Bel Canto Award and The Sydney Eisteddfod’s Opera Scholarship whilst also being a Finalist in The Opera Arts Support Group Vocal Scholarship. She recently competed as a Semi Finalist in The German Australian Opera Grant Finals and has been awarded The Megan Evans OAM Encouragement Award from The Sydney Savage Club.
