Courtney Elvira is a Mexican-American, mezzo-soprano with her hometown roots in Pinellas County, FL. Courtney began her career as an opera singer, singing for Dayton Opera; Brava! Opera Theater; Opera Ithaca; Des Moines Metro Opera; Opera Saratoga; Kentucky Opera; Opera Ithaca; St. Petersburg Opera; Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, and Savannah Voice Festival. Her awards and honors include winning the West Tennessee District (2020) and Connecticut District Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions (2018), and an Encouragement Award from the Iowa District MONC (2016). She was also a Finalist in the Butler Opera International Vocal Competition (2019). Ms. Elvira maintains an active commercial, film and theater career as well. She’s appeared in local commercials for Citizens Bank & Trust; HSN (Carol’s Daughter Hair Care); CoolToday Thermostat; Cosy House Bedding; Hyatt Regency Clearwater; and Echelon Bike. Additionally, she appeared as Sue Bayliss in the JSTAGE series production of All My Sons and Blanche Morton in Brighton Beach Memoirs with Vivid Theatre Productions. She played M’Lynn in Mountain Mover Theatre Company’s (KY) Steel Magnolias this May 2022. Finally, she will make her feature film debut as Principal Gutierrez in DOA at the PTA, with a television release Spring 2022.
