Kimaree Gilad, Instrumental Program Director, oboe

Kimaree Gilad, oboe, chairs Hawaii Performing Arts Festival's Instrumental Program.  She has been a member of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra since 1983. The press applauds her "lyrical melodies with velvety sounds," as she has been featured as soloist on both coasts, with the Northwest Chamber Orchestra of Seattle, the Colonial Symphony of New Jersey and her own LA Chamber Orchestra.

Performing in the Grammy award winning Penderecki,"Credo," with the Oregon Bach Festival, Ms. Gilad continues to participate in summer festivals including the inaugural season of the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival, where she was the head of the wind department. Ojai, La Jolla, Idyllwild Arts and the Fairbanks, Alaska Festival, are a few other festivals she has performed
and taught in.

Also active in recitals and chamber music, Ms. Gilad performs for television and motion pictures. She has the distinction of having given a master class in the People's Republic of China and has been on tour with the Kachinger Kantorie of Stuttgart, Germany.

Past performance activities include appearances with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Deutsche Opera of Berlin, New York City Opera, Belles Artes Opera and Ballet Orchestra of Mexico, San Francisco and Joffrey Ballet Orchestras, LA Bach Festival and on baroque oboe with the Musica Angelica and Los Angeles Baroque orchestra.

Ms. Gilad is a Professor of Oboe at CSU Northridge and Master's College.
