Grammy-winning Gary Washburn, director of the Honoka'a High School Jazz band, joins String Program director Iggy Jang and his own HPAF band in a lively evening of classical and Jazz music. Thursday, July 25 — Così fan tutte
7pm at Peoples Theatre in Honoka’a
HPAF presents a unique, new site-specific production of Mozart and DaPonte's brilliant comedic masterpiece Così fan tutte--a story of young lovers tested to their breaking points through dangerous games of love, desire, sex, fidelity, and deception. The audience will be immersed in the work through full, innovative use of the stunning Peoples Theater of Honoka'a, featuring an acclaimed design team of Cameron Mock (lighting and projection design), Emily MacDonald (installation and properties design) and Sarah Schuessler (costume design). Conducted by Stephen Stubbs and directed by James Darrah. Performed in Italian with English translations projected. Very limited seating for mature audiences only. As part of the Open Concert program, we will offer free tickets to deserving audience members as chosen by local nonprofit agencies.
Nonprofit organizations in the Kona, Hilo and Waimea areas who would like to help their members attend top quality HPAF musical events are invited to contact HPAF Executive Director Genette Freeman at 808-333-7378.
